Director of Training

Job Responsibilities:
  • Identify staff training needs through a needs assessment and seek training resources internal or external to the agency to meet those needs.
  • Insure compliance with training requirements set forth by licensure, accreditation standards as well as with specific contract requirements.
  • Develop and maintain specific policies around employee training requirements and ensure that agency policy dictates practice.
  • Oversee the content and coordination of Orientation agency wide.
  • Work with department managers to identify and develop specific training workshops.
  • Develop quality assurance practice around training and skill retention.
  • Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate training services with trainers outside the Agency.
  • Develop and monitor the budget for the Training Department.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for the training of all employees in the organization.
  • Ensure the quality of all training files by quarterly audits.
  • Other duties as assigned

    • Takes initiative to implement good practice and meet licensing and accreditation standards.
    • Interacts professionally and cooperatively with other parts of the agency (i.e. Human Resources, Finance, etc.)

  • Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans as indicated by:

Job Qualifications:
  • Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of business, social services, education or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a training coordinator, training facilitator or similar role in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands on experience coordinating events in a professional setting.
  • Proficient knowledge on Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.  This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of communication and dissemination techniques and methods including written, oral and visual media.
  • Knowledge of computer and audio visual equipment.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records and other office procedures.
  • Possess the skills of critical thinking using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Possess the skill of judgment and decision making by considering costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Ability to meet and handle the public with tact and poise.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to multi task in a fast paced work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
  • Ability to understand and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency.
  • Ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with other personnel and residents.
  • Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural difference in the service population

  • Duties are performed in a variety of environments ranging from highly stressful to casual and leisurely. Stress may be caused by a changing environment, firm deadlines and workload.
