Utility Worker/Custodian

Job Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
Sets up catering (serving and clearing) stations. 
Portions/arranges food on serving dishes and trays
Assist with set up and breakdown of special events.
Fills/delivers requisitions of food, beverages, and supplies to proper areas.
Cleans/maintains interior/exterior trash areas
Loads/unloads trucks picking up/delivering food and supplies. 
Vacuum and shampoo carpet as needed.
Clean windows in the Rumford Center
Scrub gym floor.
Strip and wax floors as needed/directed 
Ensure sidewalks surrounding the Rumford Center are free from debris.
Set up tables and chairs for special events.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Maintains open communication with supervisor.  
Works well with other employees by asking for help when needed and assisting others as needed.
Work with other employees to complete assignments.
Willing discuss custodial needs with supervisor.
Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans/
Ability to follow instructions without supervisor being present; continues high quality work when supervisor is absent.
Complete all job responsibilities.
Stay on schedule with meal and breaks.
Update supervisor with information about shift.

Job Qualifications:
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED) and two years’ experience in area. 
Availability to work days, evenings and weekends. 
Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
Ability to understand and follow guidelines, structure and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency.
Ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with other personnel and residents.
Ability to uphold the mission and values of The Methodist Home.
Ability to be trained in basic first aid, medication administration, CPR and crisis intervention.
Must be 21 year of age.
Valid Georgia Driver’s license
High level of energy required for working with people.
Ability to demonstrate hospitality to guest.
Excellent organizational skills, strong ethics, and honesty.

Essential Physical Requirements:

This position requires some heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping.
Ability to  lift fifty pounds
