Job Responsibilities:
Child Care Worker/Support Staff for Male Teens, PRN/On-Call/As Needed Positions

Purpose: PRN/On-Call/As Needed Child Care Support Staff/Worker provides for the day to day care, nurturing, supervision, and development of the youth assigned. The Methodist Home for Children and Youth is seeking self-motivated, energetic professionals/mentors for our teenage young men age ranging from 13-18 . Applicants MUST have experience working with behaviorally challenging youth and Crisis Management techniques.

These are PRN/On-Call positions meaning you will be called to fill-in for current staff who are unable to work their scheduled shift. The specific shifts to be filled are Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM and 9:00 - 5:00 PM, Monday - Sunday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM and 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM (overnight shift). AGAIN, THESE POSITIONS ARE PRN/ON-CALL, AS NEEDED. YOU WILL BE CALLED UPON 2 TO 4 HOURS BEFORE NEEDED TO COVER A SHIFT.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Supervision/Safety: Maintains supervision of residents in accordance with Policy and Procedure. Establishes and maintains an environment that promotes the safety of the residents at all times.
Crisis Management: Handle crises in such a way to provide a positive, therapeutic impact on the program.
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships.

Required Safety/Background Checks: All applicants must consent, and receive clearance from the following local, state and national agencies:
Bibb County Sheriff's Department
Department of Juvenile Justice (fingerprint required)
Department of Human Services (fingerprint required)
Motor Vehicle Record (must have a valid license for four consecutive years and applicant/driving record must be approved by our insurance carrier)
Child Abuse Registry
Department of Corrections
Pardons and Parole
Sex Offenders Registry
Medicaid Fraud

Salary $11.00 - $11.68 an hour

Job Qualifications:
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements include but are not limited to the following:
Bachelor Degree (preferably in Human Services related field) or High School Diploma combined with experience working with children/adolescents in a residential environment. Knowledge of child care practices, developmental issues, and group processes and practices which are important to this position. Knowledge and demonstrated skills related to theory and practices for emotionally disturbed children.
