Job Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all practices and services adhere to all current contracts and state and federal polices set forth by DBHDD, DCH, COA, CMOs, and others as applicable
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses among clients which may aid him or her in achieving resilience, as well as overcoming barriers that impede the development of skills necessary for age-appropriate functioning.
  • Encouraging appropriate participation in school and after school activities.
  • Assist clients in setting and achieving age-appropriate goals.
  • Assisting clients in the development of skills that would enhance home, school and community living (emotional regulation and self-manage behaviors).
  • Support clients in participating in natural/age appropriate activities
  • Assistance with personal development, school performance, work performance, and functioning in social and family environment through teaching skills/strategies to ameliorate the effect of behavioral health symptoms.
  • Service and resource coordination to assist clients in accessing supports and services.
  • Perform skill building activities that promote Independent Living and college readiness with age-appropriate clients.
  • Meet the minimum weekly billing requirement.
  • Manage and coordinate assigned case load of clients.
  • Work closely with therapist and other treatment team members to meet the needs of clients served.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with family and/or other professionals pertaining to clients on caseload to collaborate and coordinate services as needed.
  • Participate in weekly rotating on call schedule to provide on call crisis services to clients. (if licensed)
  • Attend clinical meetings and treatment reviews as assigned by the Clinical Director
  • Interacts professionally and cooperatively with other parts of the agency (i.e. Human Resources, Finance, etc.)
  • Responsible for reporting all reportable incidents to the Clinical Director and Child Protective Services, if/when applicable.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use de-escalation skills when appropriate.
  • Documentation on a weekly basis including uploading/entering documentation for billing purposes.
  • Completes assignments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Is willing to take on additional responsibility in a positive manner.

  • Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans.

Job Qualifications:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in a Social Services Field.
  • Must have at least two years experience providing one on one services to children and young adults.
  • Ability to communicate well with people in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to utilize Collaborative Documentation.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, Internet, E-mail, etc.
  • Ability to meet and handle the public with tact and poise.
  • Must be able to multi task in a fast paced work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
  • Ability to understand and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency.
  • Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural difference in the service population
  • Ability to handle conflicts in a professional manner that upholds the dignity and respect of other.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to successfully complete the Crisis Aggression Limitation Management training program and conduct physical interventions as taught by the instructor.Examples (1) Escorting a child by the arm to de-escalate; (2) Support a child’s movement to a seated position to the floor or to a chair.
  • Necessary stamina and temperament to work with clients who are experiencing crisis and/or emotional and/or behavior disorders.
  • Responsibilities include some travel due to services being provided in home, school, community settings, etc.
  • Flexible schedule to include evening and weekends hours
