Job Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consistently produces high quality foods as directed by Supervisor.
  • Follow USDA approved menus, recipes and guidelines to insure items are prepared properly.
  • Properly fill out required documents for meal preparation, serving and claiming procedures.
  • Willing to adjust recipes and menus as directed by Nutrition Team.
    • Willing to use constructive criticism to improve cooking and cleaning skills.
    • Prepares grocery list in accordance with established menu.
  • Maintains open communication with supervisor.Works well with other employees by asking for help when needed and assisting others as needed.
  • Willing to discuss Food Service needs with Supervisor and Agency Nutrition Team.
  • Makes effort to correct problems when given constructive criticism.
  • Ability to follow instructions without supervisor being present.Continues high quality work when supervisor is absent.
  • Complete all job responsibilities
  • Maintains a safe, healthy, and secure workplace.
  • Leadership:Role model and mentor for staff.
  • Takes initiative to implement good practice and meet oversight and accreditation standards.
  • Interacts professionally and cooperatively with other parts of the agency (i.e. Human Resources, Finance, etc.)
  • Completes assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Is willing to take on additional responsibility in a positive manner.
  • Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans.
  • Handles confidential information in a competent and professional manner.
  • Produces work that conforms to high standards of accuracy, thoroughness and thought content.

Job Qualifications:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must complete and maintain Serve Safe certification
  • Experience working in a food services environment
  • Ability to meet and handle the public with poise and tact.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
  • Ability to understand and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency.
  • Ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with other personnel and residents.
  • Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to socioeconomic and cultural differences in the service population.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work individually on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Duties are performed in a variety of environments ranging from highly stressful to casual and leisurely.
  • Duties include standing for various periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities include the ability to see for purposes of reading printed matter as well as distance vision.
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
  • Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.
  • Ability to carry 20 pounds.
  • Duties include repetitive hand movements such as mixing, chopping etc.
  • Duties may include bending, stooping or kneeling for short durations of time.
Duties may occasionally include overhead work, reaching, pulling and pushing items.
