Client Transporter

Job Responsibilities:
Purpose: The Client Transporter provides safe secure transportation to clients and their families to and from various types of appointments.

This is a part time/hourly position with a starting salary of $12.63 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Transports clients to and from services and appointments including visitation, court, panel reviews, placement moves, etc. in a timely manner.
• Remains onsite/at destination in order to provide transportation back to original departure site, if requested/assigned.
• Directs and assists client to appropriate personnel when destination is reached.
• Allocates travel time appropriately to ensure prompt arrival to appointments.
• Maintains vehicle log in accordance with Agency policy and procedure.
• Maintains therapeutic and professional relationship with all clients setting appropriate boundaries.
• Communicates written and/or verbal information effectively.
• Documents transportation services in Electronic Health Record.
• Reports all reportable incidents within required timeframes to the Director and Child Protective Services, if applicable.
• Acts as a liaison between the Agency and its collaterals.
• Interacts professionally and cooperatively with other parts of the agency (i.e. Human Resources, Finance, etc.)
• Accepts additional responsibility and other duties as assigned in a positive manner.
• Upholds the mission and values of The Methodist Home.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment.
• Completes training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plan.
• Demonstrates a commitment to democracy by actively participating in team decisions.
• Practices social responsibility evidenced by dependability and reliability.
• Utilizes appropriate Sanctuary tools when interacting with colleagues and residents/clients.

Job Qualifications:
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Must possess a High School Diploma/GED and one year of human services experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with minimum of four year driving history and the ability to meet and remain in good standing in accordance with Agency insurance guidelines.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, this includes meeting quality standards for services.
• Knowledge of and ability to use de-escalation skills when appropriate.
• Ability to handle conflicts in a professional manner that upholds the dignity and respect of other.
• Must possess the skill of active listening.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to meet and handle the public with tact and poise.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality.
• Must be able to multi task in a fast paced work environment.
• Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
• Ability to understand and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency.
• Ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with other personnel and residents/clients.
• Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural difference in the service population.
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
